The brain is the most complex part of human anatomy. It deals with every thoughts, actions, emotions or anything that deals with human being. We have the so called mental, physical and emotional structures. Of these three the most tackled is the mental life of a person. According to the famous psychologists Dr. Sigmeund Freud the mental life or the psyche of a person includes the id, ego and superego.
The id is the pleasure seeking psyche by which an individual act on drives and impulses that needs immediate satisfaction. It is considered to be the destructive instinct which is crucial in pleasurable survival. On the other hand the ego is the reality seeking principle. It mediates between the id and superego. Our ego psyche please the id but in more realistic ways that will benefit us. It is the our conscious mind acts based on cognition, perception, defense, judgment, tolerance, intellectual functioning and memory. It is the modified self that acts on learning principle.

In lieu of this, there is the superego which usually in contrast with id. It is the conscience of every individual that punishes oneself for doing wrong things. Super ego is viewing the world in perfection- where there is justice, fairness and equality.
Therefore the id is thinking of our wants, the ego is thinking of our self and the superego is thinking of others.
Seeing the world in crisis, with discriminaion, unfair judgment, crimes, etc. Nobody could say that superego has worked on individuals. Moreso we can say that the id still reigns among each of us. Our desire make us realize ourselves-the ego. And most of human given the chance in fulfilling their id would not waste any single moment in grabbing it. Yes, our conscience might work on it but it is when everything has been done and damages can't be undone.
Now you can ask yourself. Of all the things you've done was it the id, ego, or superego that reigns? In general seeing myself and the rest of the world: the id still reigns on each of us. I believe that nobody would think others more than he does to himself. So sad to say that despite higher learning we still can't do what our superegos want.
